If you reject women deacons, reserve the title for roles you believe only men can do

Mike offers practical advice to those who reject women deacons.

If a church won't use 'deacon' for women, they should only use the title for positions they believe women CAN'T do. Otherwise, using it for all kinds of men in all kinds of ministry unnecessarily limits women's service — women won't volunteer for roles they perceive as 'deacon work' (men only). This protects women's involvement in ministry roles they're suited for.
