Husbands are NOT the priests of their wives — priesthood of all believers

Everything Women Can and Can't Do According to the Bible: Women in Ministry part 13 03:54:51 – 03:56:24

Mike pushes back against a common complementarian phrase.

The NT teaches the priesthood of ALL believers — a key Reformation doctrine. Calling a husband 'the priest of his home' creates a mediator between women and God, which contradicts NT teaching. Just like the Roman Catholic and Orthodox priesthoods are unbiblical accretions, so is the 'husband as priest' language. A woman has no mediator between her and God except Jesus Christ. This doesn't negate the husband's leadership but protects the woman's direct access to God. The terminology is especially problematic for women with unsaved husbands.
