Luke 9:1-5 refutes host-as-leader claim: apostles stayed in strangers' homes
Mike tests the host-as-leader claim against the biblical text.
In Luke 9, Jesus sends out the Twelve and tells them to stay in whatever house they enter. Under the host-as-leader theory, these total strangers who hosted the apostles would become leaders of the apostles, which is absurd. The hosts were just hosts, not leaders of the group.
