Mark 13:32-37 — no one knows the day or hour; the command is perpetual alertness

The Father alone knows the day and hour — not even the Son (in his incarnate knowledge) or the angels. The parable of the departing master commands the servants to stay awake. Mark 13:37: 'What I say to you I say to all.' Mike's reconciliation: Jesus gives a timeline with identifiable sign (abomination of desolation) and a generation limit, but the exact timing within that period is unknown — so perpetual readiness is always required. The expanded audience in v.37 confirms the distant-future horizon of the prophecy.
