Side 6: Sexualized costumes violate Scripture's call to modesty
Mike's sixth point — the sexualization side of Halloween
Every year Halloween produces a wave of sexualized costumes (sexy witch, sexy nurse, etc.). Mike cites 1 Timothy 2:9 — women are to adorn themselves in modest apparel with propriety and moderation. This extends to men dressing to attract women. Immodest dress is not an issue of conscience but a black-and-white violation of Scripture. Much of this behavior is driven by a 'carnival mentality' — people behave in ways they normally wouldn't because the event/group context lowers inhibition. No Christian should participate in this side of Halloween.
