Mike's conclusion assuming Junia was an apostle: she was a missionary, not highest-rank

Were Women Apostles in the New Testament? Women in Ministry part 5 00:27:30 – 00:29:01

Mike summarizes his 'fallback' position if Junia was indeed an apostle.

Even granting that Junia was a female apostle, the majority view is correct: she was not an apostle like the Twelve or Paul. Neither she nor Andronicus appear in Acts or any other context. Two obscure apostles being more notable than the Twelve without any mention elsewhere is very unlikely. The word apostle has legitimate varied meanings, leaning toward 'missionary.' Even several egalitarians (Linda Belleville) agree she became Christian only at Pentecost. Junia was reasonably a missionary, possibly focused on women's ministry.

1 Timothy 1:3 — The Urgent Need for Timothy in Ephesus: False Teachers

Commentary clippings and research notes on 1 Timothy 1:3, establishing that Paul's primary concern in writing to Timothy was to combat false teaching in Ephesus. Multiple commentaries confirm the false teachers likely held leadership positions, and that Timothy was given Paul's own authority to command them to stop. This false-teaching context is foundational for understanding Paul's instructions in 1 Timothy 2:12.
