Jesus regularly broke cultural conventions and didn't avoid suspicion

Were Women Apostles in the New Testament? Women in Ministry part 5 01:02:48 – 01:03:48

Mike builds his case that Jesus was not concerned with cultural optics.

Jesus allowed an immoral woman to anoint him with oil and wipe his feet with her hair (publicly embarrassing). He did things on the Sabbath that triggered accusations. He taught in ways that provoked. Mike's conclusion: Jesus did not have an aversion to cultural objections. Payne's theory is based on an aversion Jesus didn't seem to share. Jesus didn't care that much about being 'winsome' in that fashion.
