Q&A: Relativism — "there is no truth" is self-refuting; "no one can know truth" is also self-refuting

Viewer question from Isabell Chris

The statement "there is no truth" is self-refuting: if it is true, then there is truth; if it is false, then there is truth. Either way, truth exists. The fallback position "no one can know what is true" is also self-refuting: the person claiming it is asserting a truth about everyone's epistemic state — how do they know it? Both are examples of people who do not think clearly. The root issue behind pluralist slogans is relativism.
