Old Testament sacrifices seasoned with salt — salt as covenant symbol and godly character

Jesus references the salt-sacrifice connection in Mark 9:49-50: "everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt." Salt preserves and enhances flavor.
