Having had an abortion: is it hypocritical to oppose it, have children afterward, or feel unworthy?

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 4) 00:17:50 – 00:23:00

Question from "Faded Princess" about abortion, hypocrisy, and guilt.

Three sub-questions: (1) Hypocrisy of opposing abortion after having one — no; a reformed person speaks with greater credibility (analogy: former racist preaching against racism). Hypocrisy = publicly opposing while privately continuing. (2) Having a baby after an abortion — not hypocritical at all; it is entirely good and worth celebrating. (3) Deserving a child — no one "deserves" children; they are God's grace. In Christ the guilt is removed. Hebrews 4:16 — we approach the throne boldly. Ephesians 1 — God has made us holy and blameless before him in love. Post-forgiveness shame is to be left at the cross.

κεφαλή (kephale) — Logos Clippings (Cheryl Schatz)

A curated collection of Logos Bible Software clippings compiled by Cheryl Schatz examining the Greek word κεφαλή (kephale) and Hebrew רֹאשׁ (rosh). The clippings draw from lexicons, encyclopedias, commentaries, and academic journals to argue that "source/origin" is the primary metaphorical meaning of kephale rather than "authority/leader," with implications for interpreting 1 Corinthians 11, Ephesians 5, and Colossians 1.
