Planning for the future is a Christian responsibility, not a lack of faith

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 23) 00:17:45 – 00:19:16

Trusting God does not mean refusing to make plans; irresponsible non-planning can become a cover for laziness.

Mike illustrates with an anecdote: a Christian who ordered food at a restaurant with no money, expecting 'the Lord will provide,' effectively stealing from the waitress's tip. Trusting God is not an excuse for having no plan. Abraham's 'go where I show you' was a specific divine directive, not a general principle of planlessness. Christians should have five-year and ten-year plans, retirement plans, etc. Failure to plan while blaming God is irresponsible.
