Mike identifies equivocation: in Galatians, 'out-grouping' means telling someone they are not truly in Christ, not fully saved, not fully cleansed. But Westfall shifts the meaning to 'not eligible for eldership.' These are fundamentally different claims. Paul's concern in Galatians 2 was that Peter's actions communicated to Gentiles that they were not really Christians, not that they were ineligible for certain roles. Culture and language mix together in a confusing way when the term 'out-group' is used this broadly.
