Mark 9:41-42: Whoever gives a cup of water to a believer won't lose their reward; whoever causes a believer to stumble, it'd be better to have a millstone hung around their neck and be cast into the sea. Galatians 6:10: do good to all people, ESPECIALLY to the household of faith. The church's primary charitable focus should be caring for fellow believers.

Rewards for blessing believers, judgment for harming them

Mark 9:41: even a cup of water (the poorest hospitality) given to a believer earns eternal reward. Mark 9:42: the millstone is the heavy animal-driven kind (over a ton), and being cast into the sea meant no proper burial — and Jesus says the actual judgment will be WORSE. Galatians 6:10: help everyone, especially Christians. John 13:35: the world knows us by our love for one another. The church isn't meant to be the world's welfare system.
