The Christ-church analogy strengthens rather than undermines submission

Have We Misunderstood "Wives Submit"? Women in Ministry part 9 02:11:38 – 02:13:11

Mike argues the Christ parallel destroys the mutual submission reading.

If Jesus loving the church equals Jesus submitting to the church, then Jesus has less than all authority -- but Jesus always had all authority over the church. He never went to Peter and asked 'what's the agenda for our lives?' The church submits to Christ; Christ does not submit to the church. Jesus submits to the Father, not to the church. Therefore Christ's love does not equal Christ's submission.
