Hair-up proponents point to akatakalupto (uncovered) in verse 5, claiming it means 'hair hanging freely' based on Leviticus 13:45 in the Septuagint. But this is only found in one variant (Alexandrinus correction), not the standard Septuagint text. Greek lexicons (BDAG, LSJ) define akatakalupto as 'uncovered,' not 'hanging loose.' The Leviticus passage may simply mean the leper couldn't cover his head with cloth (for identification purposes).
