Philip Payne points to Numbers 5:18 where a woman suspected of adultery must let her hair go loose (apokalupto). But this is a different cognate word not found in 1 Corinthians 11. Related words are important but not decisive, especially when used by other authors. The words actually found in 1 Corinthians 11 strongly refer to cloth covering.
