Three reasons the Greek pushes against the hair-done-up view
Mike summarizes the Greek evidence against the hairstyle interpretation.
(1) The Septuagint uses katakalupto consistently for cloth covering. (2) Hair done up doesn't 'cover or hide' the head more than hair hanging down -- a woman with hair piled up actually reveals more of her neck and ears. (3) Whatever women are told to do, men are told the opposite. Men weren't being rebuked for styling hair upward; they were being told not to wear cloth over their heads.
