Significance of who does the naming

Mike notes that nothing in creation named itself. God could have named Eve directly (giving equal authority) or they could have named each other (mutual submission). Instead, God let Adam name Eve, which seems to indicate a leadership role within their shared equality and dignity as image-bearers.
