Even granting that baptism parallels circumcision as a covenant sign, differences undermine the infant baptism inference

A Biblical Analysis of Infant Baptism 00:31:10 – 00:32:12

Winger grants the circumcision-as-covenant-sign parallel arguendo and then examines whether it actually supports infant baptism.

He grants for the sake of argument that circumcision = covenant sign : OT :: baptism = covenant sign : NT. But the differences are decisive. Circumcision was commanded specifically for infants as its primary application. Baptism is commanded specifically for all believers — which by definition rules out infants. These two commands point in opposite directions even if the signs are typologically connected.
